Strategy for Socio-Economic Development

The Seventh Party Congress endorsed the
1991-2000 Strategy for Socioeconomic
Stabilisation and Development. The Ninth
Party Congress evaluated the implementation
of that Strategy and decide upon the
Strategy for Socioeconomic Development
during the first decade of the 21st century
- Strategy for accelerated industrialisation
and modernisation along the socialist line,
laying the foundations for Vietnam to become
by 2020 basically an industrialised country

The National Plan of Action for the
Advancement of Women from 2001 to 2005
(POA2) is the plan for implementing the
first five years of the National Strategy
for the Advancement of Women from 2001-2010
(the Strategy). The POA2 is also a crucial
component of the National Socioeconomic
Development Strategy for the first 5 years
of the 21st century. It also represents the
strong commitment of the Party and the State
of Vietnam to the successful implementation
of the Global Platform for Action for the
Advancement of Women.
