Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Project to Start in June

Ho Chi Minh City, April 19--The detailed technical design of raining water drainage system under the project on environmental hygiene of Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe canal was reported by the American International Inc. on April 17 at a meeting with City's authorities and scientists and representatives from the World Bank, said an official source.

The technical design for works on wastewater drainage was finished, revealed officials.

In June, a system of culverts along the canal bed, 55 3m-diameter links sucking waste water into culverts and a pump station with capacity of 64,000 cu m/hour will constructed.

According to the Head of the municipal Service of Transport and Public Works Tran Minh Dzung, Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Project will deal with water-logging in seven districts in the City with total investment of 199.2 million, $166 million of which comes from loans without interest and the remainder from the domestic reciprocal capital.
